Check all four tires cold. If the light stays on after inflating, the system needs a reset or a tire has a slow leak.

Regular rotation keeps tread depths close, and it's why replacing a single tire on a 4MOTION Tiguan or Atlas needs care.
Many Volkswagens monitor tire pressure indirectly, using the ABS wheel-speed sensors to spot a tire turning faster than the others. The system has to be reset after the pressures are set or the tires are rotated. If it isn't, the warning can come back or a real loss can go unnoticed.
The Golf GTI and Golf R are often fitted with performance tires in softer compounds. They grip hard and wear faster, so checking them more often pays off.
