they are NOT transparent about listed pricing on cars.com. I confirmed the price with them on call & email before driving 1.5 hour for the test drive and purchase. initially everything went fine with little back/forth on pricing, however, after waiting hour plus for the paperwork they tried to slip in some of their useless care packages into the last bill of sales without any mention at all. when I asked them about the Maxcare package just 5 mins before that document the salesperson (not Bobby) LIED to me that its already included in price. Many dealers are charging huge markups on some models. This is one of them. It took quite a few emails to finally receive the quoted price, which had a $7,500 markup on a $48,000 vehicle. It's awful practice to try to squeeze every last dollar out of something that already had a price with profit built in, especially when you are doing it to the enthusiast that would likely be an evangelist for the brand. The phone operator hung up on me twice and was surly at best when asked a direct question.
We had made an appointment for an oil change at 10 am and was told it would be an hour and a half …… our car wasn’t even moved from the service until 11:15 ! We decided to go to lunch and was told it would be an hour or so and they would call us …..I called at 1:30 ( after being hung up on twice by the operator ) and the car still wasn’t done .

I went in to get my 50000 service, Don helped me, at first I am confused about what the prepaid service actually covered I was told something else when I bought the car. After Don explains it to me it covers 5 oil changes, 1 every 10000 miles and an inspection of the vehicle and it tops off fluids. Great service from the moment we stepped onto the lot to the end of the process! Fritz Dunn was amazing! He was knowledgeable about the vehicle we were purchasing, not pushy, and even helped detail the vehicle bc we were in a time crunch. Bought a new 2020 Tiguan S from EG VW and had a very good experience. We agreed on a price Thursday on Thursday and agreed to let me and my wife come back on Friday to sign paperwork. They also even let us start the credit app over the phone Friday morning so we could expedite the process. Most importantly they didn't push other vehicles or options like a lease or a pre-owned car and respected that I knew what car I wanted.
Tony, Nathan, and Michelle made my buying process very easy. Everybody was very friendly and professional. Nathans knowledge on cars and time he takes to show his customers what they are buying is truly impeccable. I would recommend him to anybody I know looking to buy a car. My daughters used car died and we needed to get her a car to go back to college. We were looking at the Tiguan at other used car dealerships in Sacramento and felt like we were getting the run around. The Atlas was not my first choice, but after Fritz took us for a test drive, he sold us on the car and him. He was respectful, patient, and knowledgeable. I would recommend anyone looking to buy a car, regardless of make or model, to call Fritz. We also dealt with Adam and he was the icing on the cake - it was a busy weekend with the Holiday and both Adam and Fritz made the experience well worth the wait. By far the worst customer service experience I have ever encountered, just a CIRCUS! It’s no wonder that the employee are the way that they are because it starts at the leadership level, Tony Rivas is an example of his bumbling boss and Nate the sales person is an example of his incompetent leader!

I sent a 2010 Suzuki Kizashi with 45,000. Miles in for a recall and after waiting 5 hours was told they were unable to do the recall due to the fact that they would have to remove the exhaust system which could then not be reinstalled and a new exhaust system who have to be ordered and prepaid in the amount of $4,000. And it would take 2 to 6 months to get the necessary parts. Leased a car through Bobby. We figured out all the pricing over text before I even arrived to the dealership so all we had to do was test drive and paperwork. There were no surprises, they were quick and easy and pain free. Had a terrible experience at another VW dealership looking for a Certified Preowned vehicle. Alexandria and Nathan were super helpful in getting me everything I needed to make a decision on a my new vehicle, as well as getting me through the care buying experience. Purchased a 2018 e-Golf fully electric vehicle. I called the sales representative ahead of my visit and told them the type of vehicle I was looking for and they had the vehicle parked out front ready for my test drive along with all the vehicle information. The sales representative provided me with the available options to purchase the vehicle verses leasing the vehicle for 3 years. Overall this was an amazing experience and I never felt pressured to purchase and/or lease.

Checked rates before, through my bank, which would give me a .25% decrease on the interest rate because i am a preferred customer. Purchased a 2015 Jetta in August 2018. Emailed the General Manager Patrick Ahern on 3 occasions, with a concern, not one response. I found that very rude and inconsiderate. Will never go back to Elk Grove Vw. Service people took very good care of me, but upper management could care less.
Just purchased 2019 Jetta from Elk Grove Volkswagen. Worked with Michelle Phan, through internet sales, and she was extremely responsive and helpful in getting the price that I desired. Elk Grove Volkswagen was very competitive in pricing the vehicle vs. other dealerships. Process was relatively simple once I got to the dealership and negotiated deal was as agreed. I was very happy with the entire experience and the help from Michelle and others at Elk Grove Volkswagen.
We are very happy with our purchase and the excellent service we received during the buying process. The dealership is very clean, comfortable, and impressive. The team at Elk Grove VW were easy to deal with from the beginning. We make most of our contact via email initially, and then phone and and text message as we finalized things. Our main sales contact, Kyle, was kind, responsive, and helpful. We got a good price, the car we wanted, and great financing (the latter via our own bank, preapproved). Arranged car pick up and deal sign off for a Saturday morning, and that whole process took an hour with no surprises. Good business, good people.

I recently dealt with Ivan whilst in the process of purchasing a 2008 Golf GTI. It was through his persistence and genuine attempts to assist us in receiving the best rates possible that my purchase was made into a reality. The members of Elk Grove VW (Ivan in particular) are warm, personable, down to earth people, who make the process of acquiring a car a relatively painless experience. When I began to search for a vehicle to replace my 2013 VW diesel wagon, I looked at the 2017 Jetta S with the 5M transmission.
Elk Grove VW (Kyle C.) responded much more positively than VW dealers in Stockton, Santa Rosa, Fairfield, Vacaville and also the three other dealers within the Sacramento Metro Area.

Just bought a brand new 2017 Golf GTI. I live in Visalia and drove all the way up to Elk Grove, roughly 200 miles and about a 3 hour drive. It was worth the drive! My wife and I where looking into buying a 2016 golf on Friday morning the salesman Derek called and said he had one. Ten minutes latter the finance manager called and said they could drive the car up to my office in Jackson Ca. and that I could sign the papers and get my wife's new car. The process was quite fast and I am very happy.

I went from just giving my husband a ride to pick up his car which was getting an oil change, to test driving a Passat, to leasing a Passat. It was my first time buying a car and I hope all my purchases from here go as smooth as this one did. My finance person helped me get a car that I've been wanting for a really long time at a very good price and it was very quick. I didn't feel like I got cheated into a sale.
Jay was my finance manager and he was awesome. He was able to get me in the car I wanted. He had great customer service skills and really knows his stuff. I would recommend Jay and the Volkswagen family to anybody that is looking to purchase a vehicle.

Just bought a golf sport wagon this last weekend from Jimmy and Tony. They were super easy to work with, no back and forth haggling. Most of the time spent in the office was drinking their free hot drinks and watching tv as we waiting for the finance manager to be available 🙂 if you are in the market for a VW in the Sacramento area this is the place to go!

Talk about seamless. I called the dealership with a question and was lucky enough to have Tony, the Sales Manager, answer my call. Joshua was very helpful answering questions. He was not pushy it aggressive. I told him at the outset that if he were, I would leave and I was very pleased that he respected that.
